PARIS EVER AFTER

K.S.R. BURNS

Can Amy’s rocky start in Paris turn into a happy ever after?
Amy didn’t realise how stale her life was until she jetted off to Paris without telling a soul—not even her husband—and had the adventure of a lifetime. Now as she tries to establish herself in the City of Light, she finds that despite a fun (and quirky) group of friends and the ability to indulge in French pastries whenever she wants, reinventing her life is much harder than she imagined.
Then on Amy’s thirtieth birthday, two unexpected visitors leave her wondering if she will soon be saying au revoir to Paris and the new life she’s struggled to build. Her estranged husband, Will, shows up—but is he interested in reconciliation or separation? And a young woman who arrives on Amy’s doorstep unleashes chaos that could push Amy out into the street.
As Amy’s Parisian dream starts to fall apart, she must decide: return to the stability of Will and Phoenix (if that’s even still an option) or forge her way forward in Paris? Amid secrets and surprises, set in enchanting gardens, cozy cafés, and glittering Parisian streets, Amy must choose between two very different worlds. And each has a claim on her heart.
Ah, Paris! Who wouldn't want to read about a woman escaping her old life and starting afresh in this delightful city full of romance, love, life and laughter? Well, ok, perhaps it's not quite so straightforward as that, I mean, it wouldn't make for such a great novel if the happy ever after came on page two, but let's face it, Paris is a great place to set a novel! Burns does a great job of evoking the atmosphere of the French capital and really making it as much of a character as Amy and her new friends.

And not only has Amy tried to rebuild her life in a new city - on a new continent, but she is also turning thirty and at a crossroads in her life. Further complicated by the sudden appearance of her estranged husband, which all makes for a good, dramatic story! Chaos, complications and many moments of crisis are to follow!

This is a quick, light, endearing and fun read which is full of colour and energy. Burns balances the ups and downs of Amy's life well and although it's an emotional rollercoaster, it's always kept light and leaps along. The characters are easy to visualise, easy to hear and add further layers of complications to Amy's love life, as all their story-lines weave in and out of each other throughout the pages of drama.

Burns has a natural writing style that is informal, conversational and the reader feels like they are Amy's confidant, listening to her chat over a chilled glass of white wine at a street cafe in Paris. Slip this book into your hand luggage this summer and enjoy an easy read - with a gorgeous cover!

Paris Ever After works as a standalone but if you fancy starting at the beginning of the story, why not read The Paris Effect first?

THE PARIS EFFECT

Friendship, loss, and an enchanting trip to Paris…
Amy and Kat had a plan: A secret trip to Paris. Even Amy’s husband wouldn’t know about it. But when Amy loses Kat to cancer, she knows the plan has disappeared forever. Or has it?

Guided by Kat’s bold voice and dissatisfaction with her own calorie-counting life in Phoenix, Amy takes the plunge and sneaks off to Paris without telling a soul. Once there, however, she finds that her problems have come right along with her.

Through adventures laced with luscious food and a glimpse into an unexpected side of Paris, Amy learns that often in life, love, and friendship, nothing is exactly as it seems.

Will Amy choose her new life in Paris or revive the one she left behind?
